Johor Bahru Food Tour

Johor Bahru Food Tour

KFC

KFC has always been my preferred to-go place for fried chicken in Singapore. Their original chicken always taste unique with their spices and herbs which makes it irresistible. Comparing KFC in Singapore Vs Johor Bahru , I always find the ones found across the borders taste so much tastier and juicy. They are also bigger in size too!

Bak Kut Teh

This store which we found just opposite KSL Resort Hotel, had a long queue during the lunch hour which drew us to join the crowd.

The concept was quite unique where you can choose your own ingredients and have them cooked them in the BKT.
The bak kut teh in JB has always been more of a herbal soup than a pepper soup when compared to Singapore's. I personally enjoy the herbal BKT more.

Lok Lok

If you intend to visit JB and skip Lok Lok, I will say, don't bother telling your friends you have been to JB. The lok lok in JB is awesome. It comes with a wide range of choices of food to choose from.

This store which we visited, located around the the famous abalone noodle area, served one of the most impressive array of choices available. There's simply too many to name and by looking at the photos, it doesn't do the place justice. It's best you visit it personally.

Malay Food

What better food to eat when you're in Malaysia than to try their malay food. Sedap Corner, which is located at City Square, served one of the tastier malay food we have eaten. For Singaporeans whom are concern of hygiene and prefer eating in a restaurant, this is one you should try.

The Sambal Sotong was to our liking which wasn't too spicy and taste wonderful. The rice serve is your nasi lemak rice, which was a bonus point to the dish.

Durian

What better place to have your favorite fruit than the land that produces it? Durian has been one of our main objectives for our trip where we had it for the two days that we were there.

The uncle manning the store was very nice. Knowing we are very noob in choosing durians, he cherry pick the nicer ones for us which we simply fell in love with. We personally prefer the Super XO which we both agree was simply irresistible  and mouth watering, making us order second serving.

If you have no plans this December holiday, why not consider travelling to JB for a short getaway and stuff yourself crazy with all these delicious yet affordable gourmet.
